What's New Tuesday?
It is raining here but I am afraid that it is going to turn into ice. Oh brother I sure hope not. I hate driving when it is turning into ice. I should go to the store and get some stuff but I am not sure. It depends on the weather.
I have a meeting at the church tonight. Ad Council is meeting and I should go but again with the weather it is a iffy thing. It is at 7 tonight and by then I will know if it is freezing or not. Am I sounding nuts about the ice? I know I am and there isn't much I can do about it. I am to old to change and getting older I am not as adventurous as I was when I was a younger babe! Notice what I called myself? Joke for the day!!
I have to go to the post office and send out my ornament. I am so late. Time got away from me. Last night I told Bill that I was going shopping for the ornament since I should have had it sent out last week. I got one and got it boxed up and ready to go. Now to the post office.
It feels so cold here. I have a cold breeze on my neck and it is making me feel like an ice cube. I am not even by an outside wall. I am against a wall that is is the middle of the apartment. I am not sure just what is happening here. But I do know one thing~it is mighty cold in here to me.
I guess I should get going. I have things to do and people to see and places to go. Not far mind you but places to go.
I am sending love and hugs to all and special prayers are going up for everyone. Stay safe and warm wherever you are and know that we shall all meet again same place and not always the same time.

I am determined to get that ornament mailed out today. I have just been swamped with work and can't seem to get anything else done!! Need to get those Christmas cards sent out this weekend too!!!! Still haven't finished Christmas shopping....will I ever get it all done???
My job has sure kept me busy....I am traveling way more then I normally do. There are so many people without jobs...it is scary. I help all those I can but have to turn down so many others. That makes me sad.
I got my ornament yesterday and will post about it on the board later. It is beautiful!
Just spoke with Nic....he is having chemo right now....he is so glad this is the last round until he goes to NY in January. He needs a break!

Hope everyone is doing well and making the best of life!
For me, it's been hectic. Thanksgiving weekend time spent at the camp/cabin on the lake with the kids and grandsons was so much fun. We caught a lot of fish, and in general had a ball with our little boys. Everybody left on Sat. afternoon. By that time George and I needed a nap. We stayed enjoying the peace and quiet until Sun afternoon. I'm busy getting ready for the holidays and my trip to London. Some days I think I must have been crazy to agree to a trip during the holidays. My sister and niece remain calm while I'm a basket case.
The new job is going well. The first few weeks I had trouble with the goodies that arrive almost daily in the front office. With the holidays coming up, I'd be in big trouble if I didn't get some control. I'm a lot less busy than I thought I would be. BUT then, some of you may remember my predecessor worked a maximum of 3 1/2 days, so spreading the workload over 5 days is a cinch. I actually do a lot more than she did, because I'm not always on the phone or on the computer with personal business (except now)! We're getting ready for the onslaught of Christmas parties, one tonight at church, one Friday for George's place of employment, and one next Thursday here at work (which with the new position, I have a lot of input and responsibility for). It's a covered dish lunch - either you bring a dish or pay $10.00. With the money collected, we'll purchase a turkey, ham, and sides to round out our meal.

Got dumped with 9inches snow, so far...not gonna be done till this evening. I was outside shoveling and snowblowing for 3hrs this AM and it's getting covered again. One thing for sure, we'll have a White Christmas!
My gift to all my neighbors is snowblowing their sidewalks for them when we have larger snowfalls....it's so easy for me to do and takes very little gas.
Tomorrow is the day!! I haven't heard from the hospital yet if they are going to bump me up to the first surgery.
My sis won't be able to make it till Thursday cuz of the snow hitting them in southern WI. That's ok, I'll feel all of you there with me. We are supposed to get another snow storm this coming Sunday so she will go back to her home on Sat nite or early Sunday.
My son called from school last nite and asked how I was doing and asked me to call him as soon as I could after surgery. He didn't want to talk about it much and I could tell he was worried. I'm not going to tell him that my sis can't be with me till Thursday cuz he would be more worried so I'll just try to call him as soon as I can after. He has alot of exams this and next wk before coming home for Christmas break.
All the schools in this area are closed today and the roads look pretty quiet.

It's 7:00 a.m. here and I really slept in!! Having had this tummy surgery has made me very tired and I've been napping a lot AND going to bed at 7:00 p.m.!! I think my body is mending as I sleep.
You can tell it's winter because the sun has NOT popped over Haleakela yet at 7:00 a.m. The ocean is glistening and I can see a couple turtle heads popping up because it's so calm out there. Somehow it does NOT seem like Christmas season....even though I have a lighted swag around my doorway into my bedroom, and a lighted palm tree in my living room. While I'm cooped up I should be writing cards, but I haven't been....I've been just vegging and being thankful. Maybe that is what Christmas is really all about this year.....being thankful and counting my blessings instead of how many gifts/cards I send out. Hummmmm..........worth thinking about.
I took my first alone shower yesterday and did pretty well with the drains and the "smiley face" wound on my belly. I put myself back together with padding....not as pretty as my nurse friend did it....but I got the binder back on and the drain pinned to it so I was good to go for the day. I can't tell for sure, but I think when this all heals I will have a flat belly again! And, a brand new belly button!! I will have have to name her since she was just born last week.........maybe "Nelly Belly Button!"
I haven't taken a pain pill yet....so no excuse for silly blather, but speaking of pain pills, I think I'll go take one and take another shower.....I'm rather slow, but I'm so careful. Infection is word that scares the you know what out of me. I have lost a friend to infection and had another come close to losing her life because of it, so I'm being a bit of a paranoid patient with the gloves, anticeptic hand washing etc.
Sure glad you are all here every day when I come in..........it's like happily coming into a classroom where everyone is laughing and happy to see each other. Thanks so much for ALL of your TLC over the past few days...and years!!

afternoon vera and my OFF family...well i was called for help this morning from ricks mom diane...had to help her get some things dusted off and priced for a craft sale/rummage at her cafe this thursday and friday...so much for my getting things done here that needed doing...sighs...oh well i got a couple free dinners from her...sooo i don't have to cook tonight...lol got the dishes in the dishwasher now...can't use the washer and dryer now either...grrrrr might just post a schedule and see if they agree to it....seems like every time i want to use it i can't...wanted to get gifts wrapped today but nope can't do that now either...maybe tomorrow i can...hahaha
weather here is rainy but warmer than last several days...48 now wind chill 37....last night when i got out of work it was sleeting...not very good to drive in thats for sure!! but it did warm up so there wasn't any ice to scrape this morning. supposed to turn cold again and this rain turn to snow...what snow we had is all gone now.
bought a new brush for bandit last night. he actually liked it...but not for long!!! soon as i started brushing his tail....omg he turned on me and bit me hard!!!! i screamed in pain and smacked him good...rick comes running in and asked what happened...i told him bandit bit me and then before i could say anything else rick smacked bandit so hard he fell off the couch...i was so mad at him for doing that...i already smacked bandit and he knew he hurt me...guess i need to brush him when rick isn't around. i told him bandit bites me when i try to brush him and i expect to be bit and he doesn't have to hurt him like that. he said i am babying bandit to much and thats why he does that. i don't think i am doing that at all....rick just doesn't understand me and my dog i guess...sighs...bandit didn't break the skin so thats good but i am black and blue where he did get me.
maybe tonight i will make the rest of my cookies and get them out of the way. most of the christmas cookies are gone now...seems rick has been taking them to work and i didn't know he was into the other pan of them...oh well atleast i can't eat more of them...
there is a new store in town here called value king. its a pretty good sized store and has some cheap prices too!! so i will be going there for food alot. went to the dollar store and dollar general last night got some things we needed and some food also. just need some things from the grocery store that they didn't have there. so looks like value king tonight also and i can get rest of what we need.
thats about all of my exciting news for today.
read the post from engle and her date and linda and her posts...the rest of you added in yours and omg i was roflmao!!!!!!! dating IS so much different now than before when we were younger...lmao so glad i did most of my dating rick online....LOL but he does love me for me and doesn't bother him with all my saggy skin and wrinkles...he loves ME for who i am!!!! hope you have fun tonight engle and linda...hope that you also try a date with that driver!!!! and whats wrong with using honey???? LMAOOOOOOOOO reddi whip works nice but honey.....mmmmmmm lol

No living thing learns by being hit - not you, not me, and especially not your dog. Bandit was just responding to having his hair pulled. It seems that he, the dog, does it every time that you brush him, so what is he learning by being "smacked good" by you and then by Rick? You say that Bandit does it everytime that you brush him. If your hitting Bandit helped, wouldn't he have stopped biting you by now?
Dog muzzles are sold everywhere and when I take my large, rescued dog to be bathed by the groomer (and he wa**** before I adopted him and he is fearful), she muzzles him. He can't bite her then, and there's no problem. He doesn't like the muzzle, but she gets the job done quickly and it's over for him. The dog is groomed and he doesn't learn any more fear.
I know that dogs can be frustrating, but hitting doesn't teach them anything but to be fearful.

hi...just to let you know i didn't smack bandit hard...i do not hit my dog as in beating him for doing something bad...rick was told NOT to ever hit bandit like that again and he said he wouldn't...he was just worried that bandit really hurt me with the way i screamed is all...i have raised dogs from way back in the '70's and know how to treat them so they learn...bandit just isn't a "sissy" dog that likes to be brushed is all...he doesn't like his tail to be touched at any time....but thanks for caring enough to respond to my post...
